Emmett Miller Store. Poteau Bridge at Cauthron
Emmett Millers store at Cauthron in late summer 2004. How long it has been there is not exactly known, but it was the only store and the Cauthron Post Office for many years. Emmett Miller died in Jan.,1988 and his son Billy Rowe Miller died in Oct., 2001. The Miller family came with the Bethel Family to Cauthron from Kentucky in the late 1800's. William Riley Bethel's wife was Susan Miller. They were a very well known family as he was a Methodist minister and they took a lot of interest in helping the local people. Looking north from the Poteau River Bridge on the road from Cauthron to Weeks.
