Coming into Bates from Waldron on Highway 28. Bates School House in July, 2004. Abbotts Store at Bates with school on the hill in background R. Cagles house next to Bates General Store with playhouse in back. Highway 28 in Bates looking east. Ezra Hargroves store in 2004. One of about 6 stores that was in Bates at one time. As you can see it has been closed for a number of years now. Burns Lane in Bates, Tom and Bonnie Burn's house is seen at left. They have a pretty yard with a great garden.
