| Bates school students in front of school. Original photo belongs to Donna Cook Freeman whose mother, Edna Doyal Cook taught there. Donna is able to identify her mother; her cousins Glenda Plummer, Helen Cook and Dorothy Cook; and Dessie Goforth. Helen Cooks' name can be seen written in the concrete on the steps of the school house to this day. Notice girl in front, about center. Is this Faye Burns as seen in photo on 4th page of this section with her sister and the McCord brothers? Photo taken in about 1933/34. |
