| We have had this photo only identifying the older woman as Grandma Jennings and the other woman as a Friend. We received information from the Hayes family in California that the women are possibly Rachel Bates and her grand-daughter Francis Hayes. The Essmans, Maxwells, Bates and Hayes were all neighbors in Bawley Township. Preliminary information indicates Frances S. Hayes (Oct. 1883?, AR) was the daughter of Thompson M. (Dec.1855?, AR) and Charlotte E. Hayes (Oct. 1859?, AR). Charlotte was the daughter of Thompson Bates (1808-09, SC) and Rachel S. Bates (1832?, GA) |
