William Clay Essman (Born March 3, 1887) and Nellie Bates Essman (Born December 20, 1879 and died February 12, 1948 in Scott County, Arkansas). They were married February 1, 1928 in Scott County. William Clay had 12 children in all and they lived on the Waldron to Blackfork road in Brawley Township in the Jones Creek area. William Clay Essman was married three time: he married Clarissa Maxwell July 7, 1907, he married Nellie Bates in February, 1928 and Married Bessie Goodwin October 16, 1952. His children by Clarissa Maxwell were Essie (8/27/1908), Gertie(1911), (?)Gertrude(12/15/1912), Vester (1913), Bessie L.(1918), Gladys E.(1918), Edgar E.(1919), and Adene Annifair(1923) Essman. His children with Nellie Bates were Alonzo(1915), Eugene W.(1916), and Roy T.(1918) Bates. |
